How to use the panel placement tool

The panel placement tool is a feature extract of Photonik — one roof plane, fast panel count. Use it during Step 5 — Choosing and placing panels.

When to use this tool

After you know roughly which roof planes are usable. It answers: how many panels fit " "with row spacing and setbacks applied on a single plane.

Steps in the calculator

  1. Draw or adjust the roof outline on the map or diagram.
  2. Set panel dimensions (or accept defaults) and orientation (portrait/landscape).
  3. Review inter-row spacing and edge setbacks — tune for your design rules.
  4. Note the panel count and area used; export mentally to your worksheet.

Limits

Single-plane quick check only. Multi-roof shading, string design, and yield live in the full " "Photonik Pro app. When the layout is more than a sketch, move the job there.
