How to use the string voltage calculator

The string voltage calculator checks whether your series string stays inside the inverter MPPT range across temperature — use it during Step 7 — Strings and electrical match.

Open the string voltage calculator

When to use this tool

After you have a panel datasheet and inverter MPPT / max DC voltage (steps 6–7). " "It answers whether a proposed string length is electrically valid.

Steps in the calculator

  1. Enter module Voc, Vmp, and temperature coefficients (from the datasheet).
  2. Enter inverter MPPT min/max and maximum DC voltage.
  3. Set expected site minimum and maximum cell temperatures (or use defaults).
  4. Read whether Vmp at hot and Voc at cold stay within limits; adjust panel count per string.

Limits

One string check at a time — not a full site plan. For multiple MPPTs, roofs, and " "proposal output, continue in Photonik Pro.
